Why go?

A visit to Kuala Lumpur is a must for Formula One fans. But there's much to do even if you're not!

Car rental in Kuala Lumpur makes it easy to get around, especially if you pick your vehicle up from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), which is 50 minutes from the city centre. Alternatively, you can pick up your car from downtown locations across the city.

The Malaysian F1 Grand Prix is held in the city every year. The Sepang International Circuit of Malaysia is regularly updated and tourists flock here for the best value Grand Prix available on the calendar, as well as for the modern shopping malls, markets and budget restaurants.

The most famous monument in KL is in the cosmopolitan city centre. The Petronas Twin Towers dominate the skyline and are the tallest twin buildings in the world. They can be seen for miles as you travel around KL and are iconic to the city. You can visit the Skybridge, 170m above ground, which joins the two towers together on the 41st and 42nd floors and acts as a safety device in case of emergency. Continue your tour to the observation deck on level 86 of the towers, and 360m above ground, where you can see panoramic views of the city and the Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Just a short flight away are Penang and Langkawi. Both have beautiful beaches and great resorts if you fancy a break from city life.

Where to explore?

Car hire in Kuala Lumpur will ensure you see all of the city's sights, from imposing skyscrapers to beautiful temples and mosques...

Use your hire car to journey 20 minutes north to the Batu Caves. The caves are made from limestone and are the site of a Hindu temple and shrine. There is a giant golden statue of a Hindu God at the entrance, before a climb of 272 steps into the caves. Beware of the monkeys that roam around the caves, but they make the experience authentic and well worth visiting.

There is a National Museum, Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, the National Mosque and the King's Palace to see on your visit to KL too.

Sunway Lagoon is just 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur and is a fun theme park ideal for the whole family.

For a longer road trip, Singapore is a four-hour drive away. Boasting a beautiful bay and a clean and modern city, Singapore has a lot to offer tourists, including Sentosa - the Singaporian playground.
